The name Hakkō is japanse for fermentation. 
Fermentation is an anaerobic process in which microorganisms like yeast and bacteria break down food components (e.g. sugars such as glucose) into other products (e.g. organic acids, gases or alcohol). This gives fermented foods their unique and desirable taste, aroma, texture and appearance.

At the core of the brand, the logomark is simple and eye-catching handdrawn with an imperfect look. It’s a sense of balance to a simple fermented product from a clean production to a personally touch from two start-up guys, which product taking care of the earth we live on.
